Testing policies & guidelines

For an accurate evaluation, we require:

  • No caffeine, alcohol, stimulants, or non-prescribed drugs on the day of testing

  • Two collateral sources can help provide an additional perspective. If you have trouble finding two sources, such as a friend, family member, therapist, coworker or doctor, we will still be able to complete the evaluation.

Additionally:

  • A cancellation fee applies if an appointment is missed or canceled within 48 hours.

  • Two missed/canceled ADHD appointments may result in a referral to another provider.

We accept out-of-network insurance and OhioHealthy, but reimbursement may vary. Clients are encouraged to verify coverage with their insurance provider.

Why women should consider ADHD testing

ADHD often presents differently in women, leading to misdiagnosis, late diagnosis, or no diagnosis at all. Many women internalize their struggles, assuming they’re just not trying hard enough.

If you relate to any of these experiences, an ADHD evaluation could provide the clarity you’ve been looking for:

  • Feeling overwhelmed by daily responsibilities, no matter how much you plan

  • Constantly relying on checklists, calendars, and reminders — yet still feeling behind

  • Struggling with time management and procrastination, even on things you care about

  • Chronic mental exhaustion from trying to “keep it all together”

  • Feeling too emotional, too sensitive, or too “much”

  • A family history of ADHD (it’s often genetic!)

  • Struggling with conflict, avoidance, or people-pleasing in relationships

  • Feeling like a failure and shaming yourself into a spiral of self-doubt

√ Validation: Understanding that ADHD isn’t a personal failing but a real, neurobiological condition.

√ Genetic awareness: Helping you advocate for yourself and support future generations.

√ Strengths-based clarity: Identifying ADHD-related strengths and how to use them.

√ Specialized treatment plans: Exploring ADHD-specific strategies, tools, and therapy options.

√ Workplace & educational accommodations: Accessing support to improve daily functioning.

√ Better relationships: Learning skills to regulate emotions and communicate effectively in relationships.

For many women, an ADHD diagnosis brings a variety of emotions from grief to profound relief. Finally giving language to lifelong struggles and opening doors to solutions they never knew existed.

Kate’s ADHD journey: Why I’m passionate about this work

For most of my life, I looked like I had everything together. But inside, I felt like I was always falling behind. I couldn’t understand why things that seemed effortless for others required so much effort from me.

After my children were born, my struggles intensified. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t keep up with the expectations I had always managed before. I became forgetful, disorganized, and constantly overwhelmed. I thought I was failing.

Then, I was diagnosed with ADHD. And my entire world changed.

Suddenly, the challenges I faced my whole life made sense. I wasn’t lazy, broken, or incapable. I had been living with an ADHD brain in a neurotypical world.

From that moment on, I made it my mission to learn everything about ADHD and to help other women find the same relief and clarity I did.

If you’re tired of wondering why things feel harder than they should, I’m here to help you get the answers you deserve.
