Harnessing ADHD as a Strength: The Story Behind Flourish and Focus ADHD Services

From the outside, I always appeared to be someone who had it all together. My needs were met, and I achieved success in many areas of my life. But internally, I lived with persistent doubts, constantly comparing myself to other women and wondering why tasks that seemed effortless for others required immense effort from me.

No one would have known my inner struggles unless I chose to be vulnerable and unmask them. I sensed that something was different about me, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

Breaking the Mask

After the births of my children, the cracks in my mask began to widen. Despite loving my roles as a mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, and therapist, I felt like I was drowning. The pandemic heightened these struggles. I had always been organized and reliable, but suddenly, I was missing deadlines, forgetting important tasks, and living in a constant state of panic. The more I struggled, the deeper my self-doubt grew.

When I was diagnosed with ADHD, my world changed forever. A door I never knew existed suddenly opened, bringing me profound relief and a deeper understanding of myself. Everything I had questioned about myself—why I struggled with certain tasks, why I felt so deeply passionate about justice, why I battled perfectionism—suddenly made sense. These were all hallmarks of ADHD.

Transforming ADHD into Strength

For years, I had unknowingly used perfectionism as a coping mechanism to mask my ADHD. But reaching a point where I could no longer sustain that standard of performance was devastating. Learning that my brain simply functioned differently—not worse, just differently—was a revelation.

I realized that many of my natural strengths—hyperfocus on what I love, creativity, an intuitive ability to sense changes in people, a goofy sense of humor—were all part of my ADHD. Instead of seeing these traits as burdens, I began to embrace them as powerful assets.

Building Flourish and Focus ADHD Services

My diagnosis ignited an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. I talked about ADHD constantly (probably driving everyone around me a little nuts), but I needed to absorb every piece of information I could find. The more I learned, the more I felt validated—and I knew with absolute clarity that I had to help others.

That’s when I embarked on a journey to rebrand my work with the guidance of an incredible marketing expert, Jackie Birch. Together, we created Flourish and Focus ADHD Services—a dream turned reality. With my background in helping women navigate trauma and relationship challenges, I now had a solid foundation to support women with ADHD in ways I had never imagined.

Empowering Women with ADHD

Flourish and Focus ADHD Services is dedicated to educating, validating, and empowering women with ADHD. We help them release the pressure to conform to neurotypical expectations and instead develop strategies that align with their unique minds.

I love working with women who feel like they’re failing, unsure of why life feels so much harder than it should. Watching them realize they may have ADHD—and the relief that follows—is one of the most rewarding experiences. The moment they understand that they are not broken, that their struggles are not personal failings, but simply a result of having a differently wired brain, is truly transformative.

At Flourish and Focus, we help women identify the strengths that have been with them all along and develop new strategies that allow them to focus on what brings them joy.

I am beyond grateful to support the amazing ADHD women who walk through our doors, ready to embrace their uniqueness and thrive.
